Acetal Sheet is an excellent engineering material which has become very popular due to its very good machining charactoristics and its exceptional sliding properties.

Acetal Sheet is particularly specified by engineers who prefer to machine this plastic because it will chip when being machined rather than create long swarf strands that often wrap around the tool and cause the machining process to be halted which will slow the process down. This is particularly important with modern C.N.C machines which are running at ever increasing efficiency and Acetal Sheet complements these new high speed systems.

Another advantage of Acetal Sheet is the post machining surface which is excellent and the hugely reduced deburning procedure which also contributes to the efficiency of using Acetal Sheet as well as the cosmetic presentation.

Acetal Sheet can sometimes be mistaken for Nylon Sheet because they are visually very similar but, Acetal Sheet does have advantages in terms of performance that these other materials are unable to match.
